Bridget Serchak, Director of VOA Public Relations

Bridget Serchak is VOA’s Director of Public Relations. In this role, she serves as the network’s primary media spokesperson and communications counsel to VOA leadership and oversees the team that manages VOA’s corporate website, social media accounts, studio tour program and internal communications. Prior to joining VOA in 2016, she served as chief, public affairs, at the DoD Office of Inspector General and as a public affairs officer and go-team member at the National Transportation Safety Board. Bridget was the first person in NTSB’s history to serve on a fulltime detail at another federal agency (the U.S. Chemical and Hazard Investigation Board). She has held various public relations positions in the non-profit sector, including communications director for the International Council of Cruise Lines and media relations officer at both the Intelligent Transportation Society of America and the National Passenger Railroad Corporation (Amtrak). Early in her career Bridget served on the personal staff of U.S. Senator Lloyd M. Bentsen, Jr., of Texas and then managed congressional affairs for EG&G, a global technology firm.

Bridget received a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in Politics and History and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications/Corporate Public Relations from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Bridget is a recipient of the DoD Joint Service Civilian Service Award and the DoD IG Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
